With a nickname like “the Miracle Tree”, it’s not difficult to imagine that moringa deserves your attention. Moringa oleifera, or simply moringa, is a tropical tree that grows plentifully in Central America, South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Having been used medicinally for more than 4,000 thousand years, research has recently confirmed the numerous health benefits of moringa, including cholesterol and blood pressure balancing and tumor protection.
Matcha: you may have seen, heard of, or tasted this Japanese delicacy in anything from Frappuccinos to cupcakes. These days it seems like matcha is being appropriated by anyone who prepares anything edible. Whether you think the matcha craze has gone too far or you can’t get enough of matcha-mania, this specialized tea is still an incredible superfood that you should be consuming.
Matcha is a unique type of green tea, originally cultivated in Japan and grown in the shade (more about this later), the tea leaves are hand picked and finely ground using carved grinding stones. To enjoy matcha one mixes the powder with liquid- meaning the entire tea leaf is actually consumed- in contrast to traditional preparations where tea leaves are steeped and removed. This unique process enhances the seemingly endless health benefits of matcha. Although, in the interest of brevity, this article will only focus on three benefits unique only to matcha:
The following article on the benefits of sunlight is a chapter from the newest book I’m working on tentatively called “Powered by Nature”. In this book will be all the ways and methods in which nature is good for our health, happiness and even peak performance. It covers why it is in our best self-interest to be in ecological harmony with nature. I share this chapter to give you a sneak peak. (The book should be finished and released at some point this year.)
Nowadays, there’s no longer one single perfect body type. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. Hair can be long or short, dyed or natural. But one thing that will never go out of style is a healthy, glowing appearance, that’s bursting with energy. And the best thing to start with is your skin.
Anyone who had to struggle with the skin issues that came along with puberty and those tedious teenage years knows just how frustrating it is to look into the mirror. And it’s not just teenagers who have to deal with all those nagging little things that affect their skin. Adults can have it just as tough.
Blood testing…everyones’ favorite activity.
So it was, I found myself gushing out a few vials of blood a couple weeks ago. The phlebotomist told me it only equaled out to half a shot glass. Why does it look like so much then?
With InsideTracker, they make it really easy to get advice on what you can do to change your biomarkers. Sure, you can get the same from a doctor’s visit, but doctor’s rarely go into detail about specific dietary choices you can make, which exercise patterns to increase or decrease, or even which supplements (beside the usual isolated ones) could help you achieve your health goals.
The Will to Win
When I was a kid growing up, futuristic sci-fi was always a staple in my list of “favorites” stable.
All Grow’d Up
Today and as an adult, I particularly enjoy subjects about the future especially as they relate to health, anti-aging and longevity medicine. If you’ve ever heard me speak (like the Vital Way podcast) or read articles I’ve written – you know that – I think aging is a mistake and I don’t want to participate. Neither should you my friend, neither should you…
There has recently been raised concern about aluminum toxicity from herbs. This article aims to clear up this issue.
First of all, you must know that this metal is the most abundant mineral on planet earth. It’s in everything. It is about 7-12% of the earth’s crust depending on where or how you measure. So anything that grows in the ground or eats things grown from the ground contains some aluminum.
We talk about health a lot over here. Unfortunately, there are many people that preach health…but may not be the healthiest people themselves.
There’s one good way to know for sure…blood testing. Though of course no test is 100% accurate, this can certainly give a good picture.
And in the interest of transparency I’m sharing my results with you here.
Recently my friend Travis Stoetzel introduced me to InsideTracker. I talked to Mike and ordered a test right away. You can hear me and Mike on the most recent podcast episode here.
Mike Adams of Natural News recently put out an article regarding shilajit heavy metals toxicity that many of our customers saw, raising their concerns. For those of you not familiar with the article, here’s a link to the original piece.
Here we answer the claims and concerns put forth in that article, and why we feel this is somewhat alarmist news meant to grab attention.
As my brother Cloud said, if these heavy metals were a problem, “I’ve taken so much shilajit over last 5 years I should be exhibiting toxicity symptoms!”
Reishi is probably the most popular medicinal mushroom in the world.
