This is something I’ve used in the past to stop a cold dead in its tracks and it worked pretty well. It’s not the best experience for the senses, but it’s much better than sneezing, coughing and laying in bed for a couple of days or more.
This method works best if used at first sign of a cold. You’ll need ginger, garlic, green onion and some reishi powder (or any medicinal mushroom). Take a bit of ginger, a whole scallion and one big or 2-3 smaller cloves of garlic. You’ll need to take these raw, besides the mushroom, and that’s why you wouldn’t want to do something like this on a daily basis, but just on special occasions when you feel you’re coming down with a cold.
All of these taken in raw form should help burn the virus and help prevent a cold, but prepare yourself for an intense experience. After this dose up a bit more than usual on any medicinal mushroom, like Reishi, Chaga or Cordyceps to help boost up the immune system and you’re good to go.

Awesome! My Rolfer showed me something similar to this; he mixes raw garlic, ginger, apple cider vinegar and a little raw honey. Blend the garlic, ginger and then add to the apple cider vinegar and just a bit of raw honey. Chill it in the fridge for an hour and then slam it. I’ll add reishi powder and onion next time for the extra benefit. Thanks.

That sounds like a good way of taking it.

Do we peel the skin off of the ginger?
admin says
I’ve never done that before, and I didn’t here. Is that a thing people peel?

Thank you.
I have only juiced ginger before; never ate it. So, I don’t know :S

What about blending all of the those things with a small amount of water and just drinking it down?
admin says
Yeah that would probably be easier :)

It might be more effective if you put all the ingredients in a blender and totally blended them down to a liquid. This might absorb better.

HAHAH! That was awesome! And yes I did watch this especially because I wanted to see you eat that raw garlic. Years ago I used to bake a whole bulb of elephant garlic and eat it at the first sign of a cold. But I think the baking took a lot of the things I needed out of it…. and still made me smell like garlic for DAYS. Going to try your version of this next time I feel a cold coming on… and might even shoot a video of me trying to eat all of it too!

Let me know how it works for you. Not pleasant but more pleasant than being sick.

I like green onions/scallions a lot, is there any reason you chose them over other onion varieties?

Just a little easier to eat. Other onions would be fine.
