Just like a tailor adjusts a suit to fit just right, you too can find the ideal dosage of herbs that suits your body’s needs.
This is not a one-size-fits-all scenario. Instead it’s about personalizing your path to wellness.
Two product reviews came in recently that illustrate this beautifully.
One person needed a lower dose than our standard recommended. Another needed a higher dose than recommended.
Different herbs, different people, different effects. So listen in…
“When I first started this product I took the recommended dose, but it made me nauseated, so I started taking 1/4 teasp and that was perfect. It took a couple of weeks before I noticed a difference, but that slow steady building of energy and strength has really supported me during a time of increased activity and stress. A side benefit I wasn’t expecting is losing weight and inches. I’m simply not as hungry nor am I craving the levels of sugar I was craving from the stress. Awesome product! I plan to continue using the Phoenix Rejuvenation to support my overall well being.” – Vicki Gooch
Too much was too much and caused ill effects.
But a smaller dose, and giving it time to work, led to great benefits.
How many people would have quit after that first dose and some nausea? How many would then say I tried herbs and they didn’t work for me?
What’s really cool about when a lower dose works for you is that this makes the herbs more cost effective. Just 1/4 tsp of Phoenix Formula per day will last a whopping 200 days.
At $39.99 per bag that’s just 20 cents per day. Not bad at all.
But sometimes you simply must go in the other direction as Joe shares…
“I must detail my experience so that others can also be helped. It all started about 18 months ago when I started having ED issues. I was 70 years old and in good health, and of course I was thinking I was too young for ED. I figured my testosterone was low so I went online and did some research. It took me about 4 months to find out about Pine Tree Pollen and it being a source of T. I started taking it and Nettle Root, about 2 to 3 times the recommended dosage. In March of 2023 I had by blood tested for T and it was above the reference range and I was flagged with high T. However, I was still having occasional ED problems so I started taking 1 teaspoon morning and night of Epimedium (Horny Goat Weed). I was still having ED problems so I again went to the internet for more information. Only about 2 months ago I found an article that said Viagra was 78 times stronger than Epimedium. And I found another article that stated T supplementation only reduced ED in 40 percent of men. The PDE5 enzyme is the largest cause of ED, which is why Viagra is so effective. I didn’t want all the side effects of Viagra, so I increased my Epimedium intake to 2 teaspoons twice per day. That dosage did the trick. I think I have solved my ED problems. The other day immediately after sex, my wife looked at my penis and said that it looked like I could go again. Think about what that statement does to a man’s confidence. I have to give a big “Thank You” to LEH for their great, high quality products for men’s health. I am a Christian and I am amazed (I shouldn’t be) that God gave us specific plants for our health needs. These herbs are also extremely healthy for many parts of our body, not just sexual issues. Thank you LEH for discovering those plants for us.” – Joe D.
As an aside, we talk about the different issues in erectile function in this article here.
This dose with a bag of Horny Goat Weed won’t last you very long. But if you’re only using it occasionally then it’s still not a bad value.
These stories underline an essential truth: the art of dosing with herbs is highly individualized. What works for one may not work for another, and vice versa.
Our general recommendation is to start with the minimum recommended dose and observe the effects. If you’re not seeing the desired results, move up. Most of our herbs have a range, but even those that don’t don’t hesitate to experiment by expanding the dosage. A great way to really get to know an herb is to use large amounts sometimes and see what happens.
On the flip side, if the herb feels like it is too much, or there are some side effects, then here’s a time to try less. Even if you’re getting great results you can ratchet down the dose and see if a smaller amount delivers the same benefits just to save on costs.
There’s no single ‘right’ dose for everyone. It’s about finding that sweet spot where the herb works in harmony with your body. Whether you’re looking to boost energy, improve sex, tackle specific health issues, or simply enhance overall well-being, the key lies in experimentation and tuning into your body’s responses.
I often say nothing works for everyone. That applies to dose as much as it does to herb selection.
