I love that our customers read science (much better than just “trusting the science” which isn’t so scientific at all!)
Robert Dell writes…
“To whom it may concern: I wanted to let you know how efficacious cordyceps is for chronic kidney disease. A study is published in PubMed showing results in patients with ckd after using cordyceps for 3 months. Their blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, and urinal protein levels improved. When I read the study, I ordered cordyceps from you and took it for about 3 months. I recently had blood analysis done and thrilled to report my glomerular filtration rate had improved from 60 to 70. This of course shows my creatinine level had dropped. I have since ordered and received a year supply from you. I want to see how much more improvement I can get. Thank you Lost Empire Herbs.”
Medical disclaimer: Of course, herbs can’t treat disease. Only drugs can do that. Therefore this information is only for research and entertainment purposes. I am not a doctor. I don’t play one on the internet. All I do is share some philosophical health opinions instead.
Popping over to PubMed myself it looks like there are a couple of studies that investigate this area. But I believe the study Robert is referring to is this one:
Here’s what these investigators found:
After 3-month treatment, cordycepin reduced the levels of:
- Urinal protein 36.7%±8.6%
- Blood urea nitrogen (BUN) 12.5%±3.2%
- Creatinine 18.3%±6.6%
All of these were statistically significant.
The end result was Cordyceps militaris protected against the progression of chronic kidney disease.
Again, this is not medical advice. But if you or someone you know is suffering from CKD please share this info and speak to the doctors involved.
It’s always great to hear anecdotal confirmation of what a study says.
Contrary to popular opinion, placebo-controlled double-blind trials are not the only evidence that exists.
In fact, the only evidence that really matters to you is the results you get.
That’s why we encourage you to try things out and see for yourself. If you can get lab testing done to confirm things, all the better.
That’s just one of the amazing things that Cordyceps seems to do. Find out more here.
