So I was meditating on testosterone this morning…
Yes, that is something I do every once in a while. I’m working on updating Upgrade Your Testosterone with new information so my thoughts are on the topic.
As I dive into more scientific research, very left-brained stuff…
I also feel I need to use the right side of my brain too, plus my heart, and even my balls, so it’s not just disconnected information. ;)
Anyway, as I was meditating this morning an idea or model that I’ve used in other areas popped up.
When I look at healing I always want the following “levels” addressed.
This is where 95% of the attention is focused. By just about everyone.
These aren’t often addressed but are so critically important.
When you see people fix chronic physical injuries that have been around for years, based on dealing with the mental and/or emotional components of it, you too would realize just how important they are.
The mind and body aren’t separated, despite what René Descartes said, but intimately intertwined.
The next level up…
Of course, spiritual beliefs are all over the place, including those that don’t believe in it, period. Yet regardless of what you believe here, it will affect you. Such is the nature of beliefs.
All these levels apply more than to just healing. I look at them for strength training too. Even money!
So the thought that popped into my head this morning while meditating was that they apply to testosterone as well.
We tend to focus on the physical.
Low testosterone will bring about certain physical symptoms (increased fat gain, ED, pain, less muscle mass, etc.)
And we tend to look at physical things to fix it. For some this means TRT from a doctor. Instead I’d recommend a more natural but still physical approach. Do this strength training. Change your diet like this. Don’t use most body care products. Ensure you have all the necessary micronutrients. Take pine pollen and tongkat ali. And so on and so forth.
But there’s also the mental and emotional components.
Low testosterone brings about symptoms here too including inability to focus, irritability, depression, and more.
And part of higher testosterone is the right attitude (a combination of how you think and feel).
This not only drives the things that you do, but has been shown to directly influence testosterone levels itself.
But spiritual testosterone…what does that look like?
I meditated a bit longer to get some answers.
And, for me, really it came down to going bigger and beyond yourself.
Perhaps you call it your soul’s purpose. Maybe it is why God put you on Earth. Or it’s simply that a man has a mission in life that can serve humankind on a smaller or grand scale.
We tend to do a lot for ourselves. But when others get involved we’ll often do even more.

Unfortunately, not everyone knows their mission. If you don’t the important thing is to move in a direction where you think it might be. If you’re right, great, it will become clearer as you keep moving. And if you’re wrong, great, you know something that it is not and can then go in a different direction.
When you have a driving force like this that is bigger than yourself I feel like you can tap into it and receive a “spiritual testosterone injection”.

I’m pumped up about it. And you can bet that does affect hormone levels!

It’s refreshing to think of something as apparently material as testosterone levels having a spiritual component too. But it makes sense. Total alignment on all levels — physical, emotional, mental, spiritual — is surely the best formula for optimal health, which, for men, includes optimal T-levels.
