Recently I asked for questions from customers. A lot of these had to do with sexual issues. A previous post covered those concerning size. All of the following questions concern ED and libido.
“Is there any hope at all for someone with e.d. at age 70?”
Yes, I believe there is always hope! It’s simply a useful frame of mind to have.
No one, and I mean, no one has actually ever tried everything.
Recognize that ED has many causes from hormonal to dopamine-resistance, to blood flow issues, to damaged blood vessels, to damaged nerves. (See related articles at the end of this post for some of our other articles on these specific subjects.)
That means that answer might lie much deeper and could in fact take dedicated work for several months if not years.
But there is hope. Herbs can help in some of these cases…but it is important to understand that they can’t fix any and all problems.
“Which herbs are the strongest recommended for ED issues.”
Thor’s Hammer is a good place to start.
It has five of the top ones that work synergistically across different mechanisms including hormones, dopamine, blood flow, PDE5 inhibition and more. The “blanket coverage” is exactly why it is a good place to start.
This includes Tongkat Ali, Horny Goat Weed, Cistanche, Mucuna and Shilajit. Any one of these herbs alone could help. And of course, there are countless others.
Every herbal system in the world has herbs that are used for sexual potency.
“I was wondering what is the best thing to take for low libido and also no morning wood, libido is almost none”
Again Thor’s Hammer is the best place to start for the reasons stated.
As for morning wood, we have the Morning Wood Guarantee with Pine Pollen Powder when taking a Megadose.
While we’ve seen and heard of this effect with other herbs, Pine Pollen seems to work best and most consistently for whatever reason.
And if it is working then, chances are things are working better at other times too.
One final question…
“Hi! Being a 61-year old male I am suffering from reduced libido. This does however NOT mean, that I do not want to have sex with my sweetheart any longer, but it takes very (way too) long to achieve sexual arousal and sufficient erections. Is there a “”libido formula””, that you can recommend. I oftenheard from MACA or other adaptogens like (among others) TONGKAT ALI, EPIMEDIUM (“”Horny Goat Weed””), TRIBULUS TERRESTRIS, FENUGREEK, KOREAN GINSENG or ASHWAGHANDA.
Can you recommend any of these adaptogens in order to raise male libido or better get more quickly sexually aroused? Or a combination of these adaptogens? Is there any scientifically proven study material supporting these adaptogens for male libido or is the recommendation often found for these herbs/extracts on the internet mainly folklore?
I’m looking forward to your support.
Best Regards,
Dr. Frank Meyer”
It’s a shame when the desire is there but the function is not up to par. Very common unfortunately.
Each of those herbs listed can help. You can try them singly or in combination.
Maca does seems to ramp up the libido for many. Ashwagandha more helps in an inverse way in that it helps you better handle stress, which can get in the way of libido and sexual function. Ginseng as an adaptogen can help in a similar way. Fenugreek and Tribulus both assist in spermatogenesis and various other functions related here.
It doesn’t actually really matter what the scientific evidence says. There is some behind each of those for this function. Even if a study “proves” something works that means on average.
Ultimately you have to find what works for you and that means experimenting with them.
Not to sound like a broken record but Thor’s Hammer is a great place to start. If it works for your great! Keep on using it.
If it doesn’t work for you, we’ve got our guarantee. Then you can go try something else, either from us or elsewhere.
Once again, while the herbs are a great place to start because they are almost zero-risk, they may be insufficient depending on what the cause of ED is in the first place. You may have to dig deeper. Here are a few articles that can help you to do so:

What’s best for PE? I’m fine in other areas, but can’t last more than a few seconds…

I have an upcoming article specifically on that topic. Short answer for now is Shilajit and Schisandra may have some effect.

Interesting thoughts from Tony and Thors Hammer. I guess he did not get the memo about not “what works for me does not work for you” I can understand where he is coming from but perhaps he did not do his “due diligence” on what exactly his problem is that caused the ED problem. I have had ED for about 12 years which I am aware of. I blamed it on my Type 2 diabetes and weight. Well, the weight is almost back to my 190 now and the diabetes. is doing ok. (A1C= 6.8 now). I have swapped Metformin for Berberine and I am curious to see what the A1C is after 5 months of Berberine will come out too.
But I am not giving up yet. I am 74 now and if i never get another “Woodie” I cannot complain. I will keep trying various things and herbs and if I get lucky that is good and if not that is good as well. What I do not do is yell at someone that sold me what I thought would work and it did not. There are many reasons something won’t work so I look for different things and go from there. Far too many times we want instant results and that is not how most herbs work.
I am using Tongkat Ali and the Tree Pollen and if they don’t anything for me I will ask about something else. As to “morning wood” should I want that then I better get off my ass and go into the woods in the back, of the house, to find it.:)
Thanks for your time and take care. Patience is a virtue in everything.
