Spagyric Ashwagandha Tincture
Uniquely Aged in Oak Barrels
Last year Jeff, our Ashwagandha farmer, asked if we wanted to invest in some oak barrels to use to age our Ashwagandha tincture in.
I’m always down to try a fun experiment.
And now that tincture is ready.. .
This imparts a subtle oak flavor, as well as energy from the oak into the tincture.
And I have to say that flavor makes Ashwagandha taste even better!
For those who have yet to try Ashwagandha, it is quite a magnificent herb. Because of the investment in the barrels and added aging time, these tinctures are just a little more expensive than our normal Ashwagandha tincture.

The Ashwagandha Oak Barrel Aging Process
The roots were harvested on the full moon of October 2017 and have been macerating inside oak barrels for 8 months. The barrels were aged in a humid Oregon warehouse for the entirety of winter and spring! (Most tinctures only macerate for less than a month.)
The oak barrels are newly-made of American white oak that was medium charred. The char adds to the flavor and, like activated charcoal, purifies the tincture.
The reasons liquors are aged:
“Through a chemical process called adsorption, the molecules that make young whiskey so harsh are drawn to the barrel’s wall, creating a thin layer of everything you don’t want in a drink. The Oak imparts and reinforces the energy of strong, calm, and masculine strength that the Ashwagandha itself is good for.
