Our language isn’t always clear.
The word herbs is often thought to meant green leafy plants. And while that is one part of herbs, at Lost Empire Herbs we’re using the broader definition of any sort of natural substance taken for healthful effects.
On that note, I found this chart in a paper recently which gives a breakdown of the Chinese pharmacopeia.

I don’t know about you, but I find this fascinating.
Let’s just take a spin through Lost Empire Herbs and see if we’ve got everything here.
Minerals. Shilajit.
Animals. Ant Extract and Deer Antler.
(Does Pearl count as a mineral or animal?)
Fruits. Our many berries such as Schisandra and Elder.
Fungi. Our many medicinal mushrooms.
Roots. Lots of them. Tongkat, He Shou Wu, Maca and more.
Seeds. Mucuna.
Leaves. Horny Goat Weed.
Flowers. Blue Vervain.
Bark. Albizia (also includes the flowers)
Whole plant or aerial part. Bacopa.

Others. How about pollen as in Pine Pollen?
I’m happy to say that we’ve covered all the categories mentioned here.
Nature is amazing.
That this wide range of uses of different plants and much more is available to us and can support our health and performance in many ways is awe-inspiring.
Across species, families and even kingdoms, there is so much to explore.
